My first involvement in working dog training was in the UK, with gundogs. The Labrador I had at the time didn't 'live to retrieve'. He became my first teacher in motivation and exploring the power of play.
While volunteering with a Search and Rescue team I decided to address the need for quality working dog training and invited some of the most progressive dog training instructors from the UK and overseas, hosting over 50 events and learning from some of the greatest teachers.
One day, I found myself teaching a Detection class and realised how much I enjoyed it. This is how Surrey Search Dogs came about. My friends say they always knew that I'd be doing what I do now, even before I did.
With On Target K9, I focus on the development of highly motivated working dogs and coach search dog teams to reach their full potential. I also run an international coaching programme for trainers who teach Detection as a sport.
I'm here to help you start or progress on your journey. Check out the offers on my website to see how I can support you, or send me a message with a few sentences describing your experience so far and what you want to achieve going forward.

"Astrid’s coaching and guidance are helping me stay on track and develop my skills as a handler, so I can set up my dog to succeed. I especially enjoy her focus on developing the right mindset which is also helping me with horse riding."
